Hypnosis is an Effect Weight Loss Method
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have weight no longer be an issue in your life? Can you imagine how it would be to look in the mirror and to feel pleased with how you look? Unless you have a genetic predisposition to morbid obesity, it is possible lose weight and regain your self-confidence.
As you know, there are many weight loss programs including Atkins, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, etc. Did you know that hypnosis is a very effective method of weight loss? For example, in January 2004, Dateline NBC aired a program wherein they followed 6 persons using six different methods of dieting over 6 months. In terms of pounds lost, hypnosis proved to be very effective, ranking second of 6 weight loss methods. Weight loss is a very common treatment goal of persons seeking hypnosis..
My Weight Loss Program is Not a Diet, it is a Lifestyle
My weight loss program is NOT a diet program. As you know, weight lost by dieting typically is put back on within two years. Moreover the entire tone of approaching weight loss through dieting is one of deprivation. Instead, my lose weight program focuses upon your developing a health lifestyle and healthy relationship to food that not only leads to weight loss, but also sustains your continued health long after you've attained your ideal weight goal. I don't ask you to deprive yourself of the legitimate pleasures of eating. Instead, I ask that you add to your life the pleasures of health and fitness.
My Hypnosis Weight Loss Program
Session 1: Our first session is two hours long. It's long, because there's alot that we do. First I guide you through a 45-minute interview to obtain a detailed understanding of your relationship to food. As you know, our relationship to food is complex. There can be so many different reasons as to why we are overweight: emotional support, food allergies, family history, sexual abuse, stress, are just a few of the many factors that contribute to weight problems. How can our weight loss work be effective without understanding your unique relationship to food? (It's interesting to note that most hypnotherapists and dietary programs do not make any efforts to understand the unique combination of factors that contribute to your unique weight problem).
During the interview, I also assign you a food chart with which you will track the food that you eat over the following week. For some clients, filling out the chart is an eye-opener helping them to understand some the eating behaviors which have contributed to their weight problems.
After my interviewing you, I then discuss hypnosis with you. I explain hypnosis to your satisfaction, answering any questions that you may have about hypnosis. I'll also explain what you can look forward to during your first hypnosis experience. I want to make sure that you feel totally comfortable with hypnosis. After all, for most of us, hypnosis is a new experience.
After answering all of your questions, I'll hypnotize you, and we then will begin your weight loss program. Your hypnosis will be recorded on a CD or cassette tape so that you can listen to it between sessions, thereby reinforcing your weight loss progress with the benefit of daily hypnosis in the convenience of your own home.
Sessions 2, 3 and 4: The second, third and fourth sessions are 50-minute sessions that are scheduled at weekly intervals after the first session. In each session, we track your progress, and note areas with which you may want to have a special focus applied during the hypnosis work. This information and the information gleaned from your interview will help me to customize my hypnotic suggestions to your individual needs. I focus especially on developing your positive lifestyle behaviors in relation to food and exercise. The fact that my approach is tailored or customized to you as an individual significantly enhances your success.
Session 5: Session Five is a 50-minute session scheduled a month after the last weekly session. This fifth session serves as a checkpoint at the end of your second month. In this session we monitor your success towards attaining your ideal weight goal. You may have suggestions as to which areas you wish to focus the Session 5 hypnosis work. If you wish we can continue to schedule monthly meetings until you attain your ideal weight goal.
Reinforcement/Support: In each session, I'll also give you a CD or cassette tape recording of the hypnosis work we've done in session. That way you can take the tape CD home, and use it repeatedly to reinforce your weight loss progress.
Results? With my education in psychology, I feel it is unethical to ask clients for testimonials, because it confuses my clients' therapeutic progress with my own marketing needs. So I choose to market using other means such as this website. Still I can give you some ideas of the kinds of progress made weight loss clients make by citing their progress anonymously. Here are some examples:
- Middle-aged lady in 50s: As of Session 2, lost 5 lbs., Session 3: 0 lbs., Session 4: another 4 lbs., Session 5: Another 7 lbs. Her boss noticed her weight loss, and he became a client.
- Middle-aged man in 50s: As of Session 2, 12 lbs (I have no idea how or why this man lost 12 lbs in one week.. most likely some significant water loss). I don't attribute it entirely to hypnosis. Session 3: 3 lbs., Session 4: another 2 lbs., Session 5: another 6 lbs.
- Another middle-aged woman in 50s: As of Session 2, lost 5 lbs., Session 3: 5 lbs., Session 4: another 2 lbs., Session 5: Another 8lbs. Her personal trainer noticed the difference, and requested business cards for referrals.
- Another middle-aged man in 50s: As of Session 2, lost 0 lbs. (didn't weigh himself), Session 3: 0lbs. (didn't weigh himself),, Session 4: 22 lbs. (from his presumed start), Session 5: Another 9lbs.
